- Medical Cannabis: In 2018, Utah passed Proposition 2, legalizing medical cannabis for patients with qualifying conditions. The state’s medical cannabis program, however, has stringent rules regarding cultivation.

The Right to Cultivate Cannabis in Utah
Currently, Utah law does allow for medical cannabis cultivation, but only under very specific conditions:
- Medical Cultivation: Patients who have a medical cannabis card can apply for a license to grow cannabis at home, but they are limited to six plants for personal use. Additionally, the plants must be kept in a secure, locked area.
Recreational users are not permitted to cultivate cannabis in Utah at this time.
